All of the Anamanaguchi plays are the two singles from their upcoming album Anyway. Darcie which sounds like a good Weezer song and Magnet which is more rock. Both great.

Whitby

Had a lovely week in Whitby last week.

A stone ruin part of Whitby Abbey stands against a backdrop of sea and sky, showcasing medieval architecture with tall, narrow windows and towers.

A lot of walking around the town and beaches, finding places to eat. You can’t go wrong with any of the fish and chip shops. We had great meals at Pizza West and Crocodile (tapas). Crocodile was such a small place and had the best atmosphere.

A sandy beach stretches towards grassy cliffs and distant buildings under a blue sky with scattered clouds. Whitby Abbey is on the cliff in the distance.

We spent a few hours at the museum one day. The whole place reminded me of the museum in Animal Crossing: old, quiet, and calm.

A serene coastal scene features a stone pier extending into the calm sea with two lighthouses and clouds dotting the sky.

One of my friends has been recommending Sleep Token. I have only listened to a few but they are pretty good. Mostly not my kind of music though. Quite varied but a bit too metal for me (occasionally very shouty metal!). The tracks can also be a bit long as well.

I’m really enjoying Anamanaguchi’s new song Darcie. They are singing for the first time on an album and have a bit of a Weezer sound. Definitely looking forward to the whole album in August.

Listened to some of the Lofi Final Fantasy albums by Rifti Beats. Nice and calm.

Went in with no expectations and it was pretty good. I liked they were talking to each other and making sensible decisions.

Marathon Preview

Bungie always get me with their announcements and hype for upcoming releases and they showed off some Marathon gameplay last week. It does look excellent.

I play a lot of Destiny so I have no doubt the gameplay will feel brilliant but I don’t know if I will personally enjoy the extraction shooter part. It sounds stressful and potentially frustrating. My main fear is there will be a lot of being killed by invisible players out of nowhere if Destiny PvP is anything to go by. I will give it a go at least.

The cinematic they made is also extremely good.
